Burdock can be in the form of fresh burdock root, burdock tea, dried root powder and burdock oil or extract.

Burdock can be incorporated into the diet of a sickle cell patient. It can be peeled, then fried or boiled as desired.

You can also take burdock tea or supplements. A cup of raw burdock contains 14% vitamin B6, 10% potassium, 6% vitamin C, 7% folate, 14% manganese, 6% phosphorus, 5% calcium and 5% iron. It is advised to consult a healthcare provider for instructions. If you are purchasing extracts or oil, ensure the vendor is very reliable and reputable.

As earlier mentioned, burdock root acts as an antioxidant that helps to tackle the low level of antioxidants in people suffering from sickle cell anaemia.
