HOW I GOT PULMONARY EMBOLISM PART 2

There are various risk factors that cause pulmonary embolism :
✅When one has cancer or a family history of embolisms.
✅People who are obese or older than 60 years of age also have a higher risk of developing PE.
Preventive medications such as long-term aspirin may be given to patients as a preventive measure. My doctor told me I’d need to take blood thinners for three to six months to dissolve the clot and prevent further clots but people prone to having blood clots might need to be on blood thinners for the rest of their lives.
Finally, here is some very useful advice I was given to prevent PE in the future which will help you as well.
💡After my hip bone replacement surgery, I was made to get moving as soon as possible
💡When flying, get up every hour and move
💡When sitting for long periods, do calf exercises
💡Put on compression stockings if you have a tendency to swell( this saved my life as I have severe lymphodema in my limbs)
💡Take blood thinners before and after long trips. Talk to your doctor to find out what’s best for you.
