HOW TO USE CINNAMON FOR INFLAMMATION

Cinnamon is a spice used to add flavor to baked food. It is also used in treating inflammation.
Cinnamaldehyde, Linalool and other chemicals found in cinnamon reduce swelling by counteracting the enzymes responsible for inflammation.
In addition to reducing inflammation, cinnamon also helps burn fat, is rich in antioxidants which protect the body from free radicals, helps steady blood sugar levels hence beneficial for diabetics, and boosts the immune system.
Cinnamon can be taken in; cinnamon sticks or powder. The powder can be brewed into a tea/coffee or sprinkled on breakfast/cereal.
It has no established dose but ½ or 1 teaspoon (2-4 grams) of powder can be taken daily.
I use cinnamon at home to help me with inflammation and help my husband who is diabetic maintain his blood sugar levels.
Below are some ways you can incorporate cinnamon into your diet.
☕️Add it in your smoothie( my favourite way)
☕️Add it in golden milk( turmeric and milk)
☕️Make a tea with just 1 teaspoon turmeric, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, lemon and honey to taste.
☕️Add it in hot chocolate along with ginger, vanilla and cloves.
☕️Add it in your latte or cappuccino
Cinnamon should be stored in a tightly sealed container away from sunlight and moisture.
